My name is Marilynn Ressler and I’m very excited to work with the First Grade class at St. Patrick!
I graduated from Wayne State with a Bachelor's in Art Education K-12. I continued at Oakland University studying Reading and Children Disabilities. I started working in Dearborn Heights at a middle school and was joyful to have my own art room. I followed my husband when he was drafted to Georgia. After that we moved to Indiana where I proudly helped develop a day care facility for the families on the base. We made it a non-profit so anyone could afford the fees. I managed employees and volunteers for infants-7 year old's. We expanded twice and a great perk for me was being able to bring my infant while I worked. I gained much experience from the children as well as the appreciative parents.
Returning home I was a substitute teacher for Waterford, Pontiac and West Bloomfield. Since full time teaching jobs were not available, I pivoted and went into Healthcare. I worked for Sinai Hospital and opened up the Mammogram Center in West Bloomfield and continued on to work at Providence Hospital
I have two successful daughters. My oldest granddaughter is in the 8th grade at St Pats, so I have been hanging around this Parish for many years.
I am very proud to be part of our fantastic school and to enjoy a full circle moment in my life to be back to teach and be part of all you.
Thank you and please feel free to reach out any time.
